Empowering African Voices through Games & Storytelling
We harness interactive storytelling to preserve heritage, spark dialogue, and inspire change.
Who We Are
Jiwe Games 4 Thought (Jiwe G4T) is a cross-continental initiative bridging Africa, Europe and beyond through the power of games, storytelling, and cultural innovation.
In Kenya, we operate as the Jiwe Games 4 Thought Foundation, focusing on youth empowerment, education, and community-driven projects.
In the UK, we operate as Jiwe Games for Thought CIC, building global partnerships, research collaborations, and creative opportunities that connect African creators with international platforms.
What We Do

Inclusive jams, workshops, and talks exploring social issues through play.

Serious games & AI tools—like USAWA and Umoja—built with schools & museums.

Mentorship for early-stage African creators in design, art, and storytelling.
Collaborations & Purpose
Collaborations for Impact
We co-create with partners including SOAS University of London, UNESCO, and creative studios across Africa—grounding projects in local knowledge with global relevance. Together, we prototype games, learning tools, and exhibitions that invite dialogue and civic imagination.
We focus on community-led storytelling—resourcing the people closest to the histories, languages, and places that shape the work.
- Co-design: workshops and residencies with educators, artists, and youth.
- Research: serious-games tools like USAWA and Umoja with schools & museums.
- Capacity: mentorship pathways for early-stage African creators.
Context
Why It Matters
Africa is home to rich stories and a vibrant creative youth population. Yet the tools and platforms to tell these stories are often out of reach. Jiwe Games 4 Thought bridges this gap—supporting creators to develop, distribute, and sustain work on their own terms.
Our approach pairs cultural stewardship with new media practice, so that play becomes a way to learn, remember, and imagine together.
